Firm sponsors Longleat Horse Trial, 13-15 June
5th June 2008The Salisbury office of Smith & Williamson, the UK's 8th largest accountancy firm, is sponsoring the CIC** class at the Longleat Horse Trials, held on 13-15 June.
Andrew Lockwood, director at Smith & Williamson's Salisbury office, said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring this competition at Longleat House. It is a fantastic opportunity for amateurs to compete with well known riders in the surroundings of one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public."
Horse Trials offer the elegance of Dressage, the excitement of Cross-Country and the entertainment of Show Jumping. In equestrian sport men and women compete on equal terms as it is the horses that are graded, not the riders, so well known riders compete in these trials to bring on their less experienced horses at Novice Events.
Longleat House is widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain. Substantially completed by 1580 and now home to the 7th Marquess of Bath, Longleat House is set within 900 acres (400 hectares) of magnificent ‘Capability' Brown landscaped parkland with a further 8000 acres (3,200 hectares) of woodland, lakes and farmland.
