Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and financial services group, has today launched a new entrepreneurs' platform and plans to significantly increase its share of the entrepreneurial and growth business market. Its new slogan, "Enabling Entrepreneurs", reflects the benefits of the firm's new offer and its commitment to helping growth businesses realise their full potential.
"Enabling entrepreneurs is what we do, so we thought we would coin the phrase," says Guy Rigby, Head of Entrepreneurs at the UK's eighth largest accountancy firm. "We have a great reputation, but until now we've gone about our business rather quietly. As competing firms are increasingly focused on taking on the Big 4, it's time to explain the benefits of our approach and shine our light on the wider business community.
Smith & Williamson already has a strong presence in the entrepreneurial sector, but Rigby is excited about the opportunities for growth. The new platform includes a registration facility, a new resource centre, an expanding "toolkit for entrepreneurs", an events portal and links to other useful websites. Clients have helpfully expressed their sentiments about the quality of service at the firm and there is access to a complimentary "Road Test" style business improvement service.
Entrepreneurs and growth businesses have a special set of needs and Smith & Williamson, with its distinctive mix of accountancy, tax, financial planning, investment and banking services, is particularly well placed to help. It currently has twelve London and regional offices.
Jeremy Boadle, Managing Director of Tax and Business Services at Smith & Williamson, concludes: "We enjoy working with entrepreneurs at Smith & Williamson. Our new platform is timely and will be helpful to growth businesses where, for many, the issue at the top of today's agenda is the credit crunch and the downturn in the economy. In particular, they will be able to benefit from our "Road Test", helping them identify the key areas of focus in their business."
