Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance Limited has acted for the largest Chinese business to list on AIM.

Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance Limited is pleased to announce that its client Green Dragon Gas Ltd. has begun trading on AIM. To date, the company is one of the largest Chinese business to list on AIM.

Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance Limited acts as nominated adviser and broker to Green Dragon Gas Ltd., a pure coal bed methane company which has five production sharing contracts in joint venture with the China United Coal Bed Methane Corporation Limited, a corporation ultimately owned by the Chinese state.

Green Dragon Gas Ltd. was marketed to a wide range of institutional and other investors in the UK, US, Continental Europe, Middle East and the Far East and raised $25.1m. It was admitted to trading on AIM on 17 August 2006 with an initial market capitalisation of $525m.

Azhic Basirov, director of corporate finance, who led the transaction, said: "We're delighted to have acted for Green Dragon Gas. The company controls significant acreage in three Chinese provinces and aims to be the leading provider of environmentally friendly gas resources through the commercial development of China's vast coal bed methane reserves."
