Peter Treadgold joins Smith & Williamson to boost its bloodstock and equine team
Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group, is delighted to announce that Peter Treadgold has joined the firm’s Salisbury office as a director. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in the bloodstock and equine sector having advised on the accountancy and business matters facing owners, breeders, trainers and others working in the industry.

He added: “I have been interested in racing and bloodstock since a young age and also really enjoy working with small and medium sized businesses. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to combine these areas in my professional life.”
Peter joins Penelope Lang who was appointed as a tax director in the Salisbury office earlier this year. Peter and Penelope will work closely together with the firm’s agricultural specialists to provide a broad range of services covering accountancy, business, tax and financial advice to the sector.
Peter began his career with Coopers & Lybrand (which subsequently merged with Pricewaterhouse Coopers). Before joining Smith & Williamson, he spent five years at James Cowper’s Newbury office where he led the bloodstock and equine practice and also worked alongside tax specialist Penelope Lang.
Salisbury’s bloodstock and equine team of specialists advise on:

- the ownership of land and related assets to optimise a client’s fiscal position and preserve wealth for the next generation
