David Alexander re-elected as ACFE UK Chapter president
David Alexander, director of Forensic Services at the accountancy and financial services group, Smith & Williamson, has been re-elected as president of the UK Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
With over 50,000 members worldwide, the ACFE administers the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation. Globally preferred by employers, the CFE designation denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection, deterrence and investigation. Members with the CFE credential gain a professional advantage and quickly position themselves as leaders in the global anti-fraud community.
“Fraud is a growing problem, with 292,799 reports of various scams reported by media outlets in 2009,“ said David Alexander. “As the effects of the recession are felt more widely, businesses in the UK will undoubtedly suffer the effects of fraud. The ACFE aims to train fraud examiners, providing greater protection for British businesses.”
