Smith & Williamson Investment Management launches Midlands division

Following the recent opening of its Glasgow office, Smith & Williamson Investment Management has launched a fund management operation in Worcester, alongside Smith & Williamson’s existing restructuring and recovery division.

Chris Lyttelton, deputy chairman of Smith & Williamson and head of the investment management business, commented:

“We intend to bring to the Midlands a fresh approach to the investment of private client funds. We are very excited about business prospects in the region and look forward to making a genuine contribution to its financial community.”

Fern Hordern has rejoined Smith & Williamson Investment Management and will be responsible for spearheading the launch. She will be supported by assistant investment manager Natalie Howe. Fern worked for Smith & Williamson in London until April 2001, when she relocated to the Midlands.

Fern commented:

“I am delighted to be back at Smith & Williamson and to be involved in such an exciting project at the offset. We’re looking forward to developing a strong regional presence in the area and establishing the Smith & Williamson brand locally as a major player in the investment management arena.”
