Stephen is Head of Assurance & business services in London and has extensive experience of assurance and advisory work.

His client base consists of listed companies, private equity backed businesses and entrepreneurs. His clients operate in a number of sectors including natural resources, property & business services. Stephen has expertise in providing advice on acquisitions, disposals, IPOs, succession planning and business reviews.

A number of his clients have international operations and he has particular experience of working with businesses with Latin American, European and African connections. In particular Stephen has spent some time working in Brazil with international natural resource and power generation groups.

Stephen joined Hereward Philips in 1988 from Coutts & Co bankers. He qualified in 1991 and became a partner in Smith & Williamson in April 1999 when Hereward Philips joined the firm.
