Charles joined Smith & Williamson in 1994 and has been involved in private client fund management business ever since. He manages a wide range of discretionary portfolios, both offshore and onshore. Charles' clients include charities as well and personal trusts and pension funds.

Charles has particular expertise in alternative assets, especially hedge funds and absolute return investments, and he is also responsible for the firm's coverage of the life assurance and speciality financials sectors.
