Fern rejoined Smith & Williamson in June 2006 to spearhead the launch of the Worcester office investment management division. Now based in our Birmingham office, she is primarily involved in the management of portfolios for private clients, trusts and charities in the Midlands.
Fern began her career as a graduate trainee with Foreign & Colonial Asset Management. After just two years, she was promoted to institutional fund manager, looking after £100m in Japanese equity pension funds/unit trusts. In March 1999, Fern joined Smith & Williamson as a private client fund manager on a team managing £200m of private client portfolios. She later relocated to Birmingham, assuming positions as head of the Birmingham investment team at Williams de Broe, and latterly, as investment director at Singer & Friedlander Investment Management.
She is a graduate of Somerville College, Oxford, where she read Classics and Modern Languages.
