David is a director in the Assurance & Business Services team in the London office. David has had 25 years' experience working with quoted companies, many with considerable international interests, as well as family-owned and other private companies. His work has included due diligence and many other investigative and advisory assignments as his clients have expanded by acquisition or restructured their operations.
In recent years David has advised on more than a dozen Aim IPOs, acquisitions and re-admissions.
David's clients have always included companies and professional practices in the property sector and he co-authored three earlier editions of the ICAEW 250 page guide 'Real Estate'.
Having been head of Binder Hamlyn's audit practice for six years until 1994, his interest and knowledge of professional practices developed to the point where David acted as lead partner to large law firms and property surveying and consulting practices. As well as audit and accounting services he has also advised on a range of projects relating to risk management, profit improvement, management reporting projects and corporate governance.
David joined Smith & Williamson in 2002. Previously he was a partner of Binder Hamlyn from 1980 until 1994 when the firm merged with Andersen where he was a partner for a further eight years.
