Tim joined Smith & Williamson in August 1994 and is responsible for managing the corporate tax department. He deals with compliance and advisory work for a varied portfolio of clients. This includes the taxation advisory and compliance function for Smith & Williamson’s 54 in-house funds consisting of:
- unit trust
- open ended
- investment companies
- limited partnerships
- exempt unit trusts
Tim specialises in establishment of investment funds, setting up investment management structures and exit planning for investment managers. He also has experience advising on the tax efficient structure of property investment and property development purchases and disposals
Tim is a member of the firm’s Financial Services & Markets Group and Property Group and possesses expert knowledge in financial services and property sectors. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Investment Management Association.
