Giles is National Head of the Assurance & business services division and specialises in advising the professions which include clients regulated by the FSA, SRA, CIPA and RICS.
Giles acts for a large number of investment management and broking firms regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). In addition, he is Head of Smith & Williamson’s Professional Practices Group that was formed in 1992 to coordinate the services to professional practice clients. Giles’ experience includes acting for Architectural, Actuarial, Real Estate, Patent & Trade Mark Attorney and legal clients ranging in size from specialist niche partnerships to large city based and international firms and has advised on a wide range of financial issues relating to professional practices including incorporation, funding mergers & acquisitions, strategic advice and the implications of the Legal Services Act 2007.
