Stephen trained and worked as an institutional analyst with Sheppards and Chase in the City before joining Parsons Penney in Glasgow in 1990. He was appointed a director in 1993. As the firm became Greig Middleton then Gerrard Stephen developed particular interests in private client and charity investment management.

He joined Smith & Williamson in Glasgow in November 2005 where he is now fully committed to looking after all aspects of private client and charity investment management.
