Adrian is involved in a variety of tax planning work, concentrating on advising on tax aspects of buying and selling private companies and of the Enterprise Investment Scheme.

Adrian joined Smith & Williamson in 1995 and is a director in our Corporate Tax department.

He is involved in a variety of tax planning work, including buying and selling private companies and corporate reorganisations. He advises some of the firm’s larger corporate groups one of which floated on the main London Stock Exchange in March 2006 raising £72 million. Adrian’s clients are primarily focused in the civil engineering, property and media sectors. His client base ranges from quoted companies to start-up businesses.

Adrian also specialises in advising on the tax aspects of the Enterprise Investment Scheme and Venture Capital Trusts and is a contributor to professional journals and the financial press. He heads up our investor reliefs team. He advises regularly on venture capital transactions including flotations, mergers and acquisitions, and MBOs.

Adrian is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Tax.
