Vanessa has specialised in forensic accounting since 1995 and has worked on numerous types of cases, including:

• Commercial disputes
• Insurance claims
• Product liability
• Personal injury/fatal accident claims
• Fidelity claims
• Professional negligence
• Infringement of intellectual property rights

Vanessa acts for both claimants and defendants and as a single joint expert; she has also given evidence in the High Court and in international arbitrations.

She lectures to lawyers’ associations, individual firms of solicitors and insurance companies on quantum issues and the use of expert witnesses.

Vanessa has worked on a number of claims from incidents on the rail network including performance regime and loss of profit claims.

She has acted for insurers in subrogation actions for business interruption at power plants, mines and manufacturing facilities.
