E: cjm@smith.williamson.co.uk
Chris has been involved extensively with occupational pensions and employee benefits since the mid-1970s. He advises employers on the design and operation of employee benefit programs and keeps pension scheme trustees advised on how to undertake their duties effectively.
Chris actively manages service providers on behalf of employers and trustees, to ensure that reliable and cost-effective services are maintained. He frequently makes presentations to employees, explaining how their pension schemes and other mainstream benefits work, usually accompanied by individual "surgeries".
Earlier in his career, Chris designed and produced pensions planning and other benefit‑related software, which makes him well placed to assist clients with today’s flexible benefit and HR software solutions.
He made a significant contribution to the pensions section of Tolley's Finance & Law for the Older Client and has contributed to successive editions of the CBI/Real Business Pensions Guide. He is qualified as an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute.
Chris is responsible for developing and delivering corporate employee benefit services in association with our London and Southampton offices.
