Michael joined Smith & Williamson in 1999 following the acquisition by Smith & Williamson of Majedie Portfolio Management where Michael specialised in management of investments on behalf of groups of substantial family investors.

His career has been devoted to the management of wealthy private client investors' and specialist charitable funds. He has worked with Capel-Cure Myers, Phillips & Drew and Mullins & Co, all long standing City stockbroking and investment management companies.
